Fishing in Destin #where to go fishing in destin

Known as the world’s luckiest little fishing village, Destin has been attracting avid sport fishers and first-time anglers for years. When looking to set up your Destin fishing experience, you have endless options to choose from.

Here are a few options that you may find helpful.

Okaloosa Island Pier: This 1262-foot-long pier, built in 1998, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during peak season, and based on the brag pages (uhm, I mean, I mean pictures link) on http://okaloosaislandpier.net/pics.htm You can really haul in some truly impressive catches.  As one of the less expensive things to do in the Destin area, the daily pier price is currently $8 per adult and $5 per child.  You can rent a large fishing rod for $8, and they have an assortment of bait for purchase.

Concierge With Flair: Lynne Tanner is lucky to work part-time with us this year.  On the side, Lynne operates a Destin Concierge business that assists guests with scheduling their vacation needs.  A Destin local, she has many contacts and several businesses it would be hard to find on your own.  Lynne loves fishing in her off time, and because of that, she has several contacts in the private charter business. While renting a private charter can be very expensive, this is a great way to go after that trophy fish you have been dreaming of.850-865-6143

Party Boat Destin Deep Sea Fishing:

I usually go deep-sea fishing when my family comes to town.  I have personally been out on both the Destin Princess http://www.destinpartyboatfishing.com/  and the Swoop I and The Swoop II https://www.swooppartyboat.com/.  I really like both companies.  Generally speaking, on these boat trips, you will meet at the harbor around 6 am for a 7 am departure.  Once you arrive at the first fishing hole (normally an hour or so boat ride from the harbor), deckhands will assist the fisherman in your group while the boat Capitan works diligently to make sure everyone has a chance to catch fish.  During the Summer months they generally offer a variety of trips ranging from 4-10hours.  Prices range from $60-$120

A big part of knowing where to fish also involves knowing what fish are in season.  You can find a list of the current Fishing Seasons on the following link
